Prehistoric man had two separate eyelids but seeing as we don't need them, we evolved to not have them.

@04:15the corner of the eyes are called medial canthus (the inner) and the lateral canthus (outer) :)

@04:17Nope, Not a tear duct!
On your eye you have a line of flesh lining your eye lids and you'll find a tiny hole at the end of each line, that's your tear duct (ever wonder why you can feel tears coming on? It's because the tears don't start at the edge of your eye, they start a cm or so away and roll into the corner!)! The little piece next next to you nose is a Caruncle, basically it's a sweat glad! :)
